What We Need to Provide a Fully Quantified Waterproofing Quote

Short version and long version included!

At Premcrete, we specialise in delivering fully scoped, accurate waterproofing quotes — not rough estimates. For us to design the right solution and give you a cost you can rely on, we need some essential project information upfront.

The Short Version – Just Give Us These 6 Things

If you're short on time, these six core items allow us to generate a detailed and reliable quote:

  1. Total surface area of pile caps
  2. Total surface area of ground beams
  3. Total perimeter of pile caps
  4. Total perimeter of ground beams
  5. Pile diameter and total number of piles in the lift cores
  6. Site Investigation Report confirming the presence or absence of ground gas and hydrocarbons (VOCs)

These figures give us the baseline quantities for membrane coverage, detailing requirements, and any gas protection considerations. From this, we can extrapolate the rest with a high degree of accuracy.

The Long Version – For Complete Accuracy and Full Design Integration

For high-risk buildings, Gateway 2 submissions, or where detailed design coordination is needed, we recommend providing the full set of structural and environmental details below — which includes and builds upon the six core items.

Core Structural Data (Includes the 6 Short Version Items):

  • Pile cap surface area (m²)
  • Ground beam surface area (m²)
  • Perimeter of pile caps (m)
  • Perimeter of ground beams (m)
  • Pile diameter and total number of piles in the lift cores
  • Site Investigation Report confirming:
    • Presence of ground gases (e.g., radon, methane, carbon dioxide)
    • Presence of hydrocarbons or volatile organic compounds (VOCs)

Additional Structural Geometry (If Available):

  • Total area of basement or ground-level slab
  • Basement perimeter
  • Wall height or basement depth
  • Length, height, and width of capping beams
  • Width of contiguous or secant piles
  • Total perimeter of the structure at ground level
  • Lift core: perimeter and depth
  • For sloped sites: retaining wall length and height
  • Podium slab area (if applicable)

Cavity Drain System Details (If Type C System Is Required):

  • Total internal slab area
  • Total internal wall area
  • Internal perimeter (for drainage channel design)
  • Lift pit slab and wall area

Why the Site Investigation Report Matters

The SI report is critical not just for compliance — but for protection. If gas or hydrocarbon risks are present and unaccounted for, your system could fail prematurely, void warranties, or create compliance issues under BS 8102:2022 and the Building Safety Act.

That’s why we always request confirmation of gas/VOC risks before quoting. It directly impacts membrane choice, installation detailing, and the overall system warranty.

What You Get in Return

When we’re given clear, upfront data, we can provide:

  • A precise, transparent quote — not an estimate
  • A fully compliant, risk-mitigated design
  • Reduced uncertainty during construction
  • A waterproofing solution backed by full design liability and robust warranties
